Soils Project

Our ‘Soils’ project started in 2013 with a goal of improving sustainable agricultural practices in our local region by increasing the understanding & adaptation of management practices that improve soil & land health.

Farmers and land managers are provided with soil health focused learning opportunities, building skills and adding ‘tools’ to their management options which can help with tackling the changing conditions faced today. Landcare groups and farmers help host practical workshops and field days with specialist presenters. More recently short courses have been run to give more in depth learning.

Farmers teaching farmers is an effective way of sharing information, and a great way for communities to support each other.

The project is supported by the Goulburn Broken CMA through funding from the Australian Government’s National Landcare Program and Victorian State Government.
